This recreation of a Minish house interior from the Game Boy Advance game "The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap" (my favorite in the whole series!) is part of my final BA thesis project. I always loved the Minish folk and the design of their cute homes and wanted to work on something related for a long time now. For the room layout and props, I took inspiration from different houses of the original game and mixed them up. My goal was to believably translate the scenery from 2D to 3D. For the art style, I took some inspiration from the recent "The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening" remake. Regarding workflow, I tried some new things with this project, for example, creating tiling textures in Substance Designer, including animated VFX effects and creating a video fly-through. This was also the first time for me to set up & render my own small scene inside Unreal Engine - I enjoyed trying out new things & I'm looking forward to learning more in the future!
